However, I would caution you to avoid driving a motor vehicle for an hour or so after drinking it. Depending on your own weight and how strict your location’s drink-driving laws are, you may be over the legal alcohol or blood level just after finishing it.

However, your body would completely process the alcohol from such a small drink within about two hours.

Am I an Alcoholic If I Have A Beer Once A Day?

It depends on how far you would go to make sure you always have that beer, and the effect it has on you and those around you.

Would it matter if you didn’t have that beer on any particular day? Would you struggle to cope if you knew you could not have been at any point? Does it have any impact on your choices, habits or life? Can you afford it without having to go without something else – such as friendship, food, clothing etc?

Do your family or friends not want to spend any time with you because you have a beer every night? Is it having a negative impact on your health? Is anyone else in your life suffering because of this? Can you always stop at just a single bottle?

Does your character change after one beer? Do you become untrustworthy, argumentative, aggressive, unreliable, unpleasant, or uncooperative when you are trying to get your beer, while you are enjoying it, or afterward?

If your answer is “No” to all of the questions above then my guess would be that no, you aren’t an alcoholic.

With that out of the way. It is important to note though that daily drinking is not great. We recommend having 2-to 3 completely alcohol-free days a week so your liver (and possibly other organs) have time to recover properly.

I’m 19 and I have Never Drank A Beer. Should I Try To Drink Beer?

The real question is – Why the heck do you want to drink it?

If you’re curious about its taste, then I’d be happy to inform you that beer tastes horrible.

In fact, it has one of the worst tastes ever. Yes, you will gradually begin to enjoy the taste after you drink it a couple of times. But why would you like to adapt if there are lots of healthy things to try that taste great?

For instance, I recently tried hummus and Falafel. So, if it’s about the taste, I’d say no need to go ahead.

If you want to experience the high, by all means, go ahead. But remember a few things:

You’d be hungry afterward

When high, you may end up saying or doing things that you will regret later

The hangovers are the worse.

Alcohol is addictive. It will affect your liver, as well as your neurons.

Like Simon’s answer, nothing would happen except for a can or bottle of beer being opened, emptied, and discarded, followed by eventual urination, then the process is complete.

From a health standpoint, nothing of any significance will occur until you start drinking well over 1 beer multiple times per week (barring some sort of out-of-the-norm reaction to alcohol).

2–3 beers per night for 2–3 days out of the week will still have very little meaningful impact at all on your health. This type of mild drinking can be easily handled by the average human liver.
